Police, fire and public works report routine updates; Fire reports 700+ calls last year

Police Chief Canady told the council that Officer Smith has completed the Field Training Officer (FTO) process and is the first officer in the department to complete the new FTO program. Fire Chief Brittian reported the department responded to over 700 calls last year, completed ambulance inventories, is refining standard operating procedures, updating the department website and streamlining training records; three staff are attending Firefighter I training. PW Director Olson said staff are maintaining vehicles, preparing spring work, will be graveling roads soon and continuing work on a dog kennel; Mayor Sharp said the Humane Society will contribute another $10,000 toward the kennel construction.
