On Feb. 18 the Soap Lake City Council voted unanimously to approve distribution of $7,875.82 from Tourism Funds to the Creative District's Wayfinding Sign Project.
The payment (M/Bryson, S/Carson) was approved without further discussion. During committee reports, Ruthann Tobiason said she was glad to see the Wayfinding funding on the agenda and suggested Bill Sangster would be interested in participating if a Tourism Committee is formed. After members discussed how best to proceed, City Attorney Norton agreed to draft an ordinance for consideration at the next meeting to establish a Tourism Fund Committee.
The council did not set committee membership at this meeting; the ordinance will return to the council for formal consideration and possible appointment procedures.
