Council discusses sewer-plant tour and automating RV dump payments as rate letters go out

Councilmember Steve Cowdrey asked at the Jan. 12 meeting whether the city had received complaints about letters notifying residents of proposed water and sewer rate increases; Deputy Clerk Dessa Myrick said none had been received to date. Cowdrey suggested arranging a tour of the sewer plant so residents can see what the added expenses support.
Cowdrey also raised the RV dump site, asking whether the city could implement automated payments using a wireless card reader or whether the site should be closed. Council discussed contacting another RV dump site that uses a similar payment system to learn how it operates. No formal action or deadlines were set at the meeting.
