Mayor Dwayne Paris reported several operational and public-safety updates at the Dec. 22 meeting. He said the city's 4-wheeler will be paid off next week and soon ready to ship, and that he had arranged to buy Jaws of Life using a payment plan that covers half the cost this year and half next year. "He had an opportunity to purchase Jaws of Life for a really good price. So, he has arranged to pay for half this year and half next year," the transcript records.
Paris also reported that Kirk underwent emergency appendicitis surgery and will be out next week, noted the reserve officer hiring process and a wage set at $25.00 per hour, and said the WWTP's 911 activation system is out of date and no longer supported so the city will not continue paying for that service. Clerk-Treasurer Tina Davidson confirmed administrative items such as ordering uniforms for the reserve officer candidate Monte.
