Supervisors award FY27 fuel contracts: River Valley Energy for gasoline/diesel, AgVantage FS for LP gas

Jackson County’s Board of Supervisors reviewed FY27 fuel bids on June 16, 2026 and approved contracts for bulk fuel and additives.
For gasoline and diesel the board awarded the contract to River Valley Energy. The transcript records River Valley Energy’s bid at $0.319 per gallon for 35,000 gallons of ethanol-blend gasoline; $0.085 per gallon for 65,000 gallons of No. 2 regular diesel fuel; $0.159 per gallon for winter blend diesel; and $0.02 per gallon for 105,000 gallons of diesel fuel additive. Mulgrew Oil Co submitted alternate bids; AgVantage FS, Inc. and Eastern Iowa LP did not bid on those items.
For 9,000 gallons of liquid propane (LP) gas, AgVantage FS bid $1.179 per gallon and Mulgrew Oil Co bid $1.325 per gallon; the board approved the contract with AgVantage FS by motion of Supervisor Mike Steines, seconded by Supervisor Nin Flagel. All motions were adopted unanimously.
These contract awards authorize the chair to sign and the county to execute FY27 supply agreements; contract documents are on file with the county Engineer and the Auditor’s Office.
