Supervisors approve one-year 28E agreement for mental health coordination with Clinton County

The Jackson County Board of Supervisors on June 23 approved a one‑year 28E agreement with Clinton County to continue mental‑health coordinator services through June 30, 2027. Lynette Burton of community services told the board the local program continues to link clients to services and to work with the ASO and DAC, but that funding shifts after the regional restructure removed some discretionary assistance that previously helped people meet co‑pays or first‑month rent.
Burton summarized continuing barriers and coordination needs: "The big barriers, like I said, are the transportation and the rent," and she described cases where clients cannot move out of a facility without first‑month rent even though benefits won't begin until they are in the community. Supervisors praised county staff for maintaining continuity after state funding changes; the board approved the 28E renewal by voice vote.
