Public Works Director Olson told council staff are preparing a Department of Ecology–required maintenance schedule for plant equipment, continuing bathroom and vehicle maintenance, and working on the dog park; crews lowered a manhole at Hwy 17 and 3rd Ave because snow plows were hitting it.
Police Chief Canady reported December activity: 113 calls for service; eight dog calls; three code violations written for dogs; 28 arrests (in custody or citations issued); one DUI; one accident; 45 traffic infractions; three non‑traffic infractions; four non‑traffic criminal citations; 94 traffic stops; and 19 assists to other law enforcement or Fire/EMS. Canady also said he is looking forward to organizing this year’s Soap Box Derby.
