Soap Lake’s city council approved its consent agenda and several governance actions during a meeting on Jan. 7, 2026. The consent agenda—which included minutes from Dec. 17, 2025 and Claims #27683–27716 totaling $390,204.71—was accepted on a motion by Councilmember Bryson, seconded by Councilmember Gorman, and carried by the council.
On Old Business, Councilmember Bryson moved and Councilmember Carlson seconded to nominate Councilmember Arnold to the GTA Board for 2026; the motion carried and Councilmember Arnold abstained from the vote, as recorded. Later in the agenda, Councilmember Arnold moved and Councilmember Gorman seconded to create a Tourism Development Committee and authorized the city attorney to draft committee details for council approval; that motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 6:38 p.m. after a motion by Bryson and second by Gorman.
