Williamstown flags sidewalks, crosswalks and limited transit as local priorities

Chair Rich Turner and other commissioners said transit access is limited, with a reduced Green Mountain Transit schedule that previously offered more free service. "We used to have a railroad," Turner said in context of historic local connections; commissioners suggested exploring bus options that could support shopping and medical trips and noted a weekly run to Hannaford's and reduced services affecting seniors and workers.
CVRPC staff recommended the plan's transportation chapter include sidewalk and crosswalk priorities, transit-service mapping, and any opportunities for demonstration projects tied to grant funding.
