Williamstown plans townwide survey July'September to guide plan update

CVRPC and the Planning Commission will launch a community survey July through September to gather resident input on sidewalks, housing, energy and other priorities; drafts will be circulated to commissioners with Rich Turner serving as point person.
CVRPC staff told the Williamstown Planning Commission that a short, broadly distributed survey will be a central tool for public outreach during the Municipal Plan update. The survey is planned to run from July through September and CVRPC staff proposed multiple distribution channels, including Front Porch Forum, the town website, the library, school contacts, and fall community events.
"We would like to have the survey where we can collect information and leave it open-ended and have a space where people can add their comments," Eli Toohey said, noting CVRPC will draft the survey and return it to the commission for comment. Commissioners emphasized keeping the survey short to maximize participation and identified Fall Festival, school open houses, and the food shelf as distribution points.
Commissioners appointed Chair Rich Turner as a point person to review and return feedback on the draft survey. CVRPC also offered to run the compiled results and provide the commission with summarized findings by late September to inform map updates and draft goals and objectives.
