The Town of Weston Selectboard voted on Nov. 25 to change the town’s employee health insurance to MVP Option 2, a decision the board said could yield approximately $29,000 in annual savings pending verification that prescription and doctor coverage are equivalent.
Jim Linville made the motion to approve the switch, which was seconded by Linda Saarnijoki. The motion passed with four votes in favor — Linville, Saarnijoki, Denis Benson and Brian Gehlich — and one abstention from Katie Fitzpatrick. The board specified the change is contingent on confirmation that the new plan maintains comparable prescription and provider coverage.
The item was discussed as part of regular personnel and budget considerations; no additional amendments were proposed. The board moved to the next agenda items after the vote.
