Commission recommends annexation of 24.59 acres near Hwy. 21 to Bryan City Council

City planning staff presented an owner-requested annexation (AN25-04) for 24.59 acres out of the John Williams League (abstract 237) located northwest of West State Highway 21 and Santana Road. Michaela Dickinson, a staff planner, said the proposal would place roughly 4.83 acres in Innovation Corridor — Retail Services (ICRS) and the remaining 19.76 acres in Innovation Corridor — High Density Residential (ICHDR) and that "staff does recommend approval of this request."
Dickinson also told commissioners staff had received a call from the county fire chief raising concerns about access and utilities; she said those issues would be addressed during the site-plan review process if the property is annexed. With no public testimony, the commission moved to recommend approval to the Bryan City Council and recorded the motion as passing unanimously.
