Staff proposes technical fixes to Bryan zoning code; formal text to return to commission

City staff presented proposed technical amendments to the City of Bryan Code of Ordinances at the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on Feb. 19, 2026.
"City staff has found a discrepancy in the numbering within chapter 62, and then 2 incorrect references to other sections in chapter 130," a staff member said (S5). Staff outlined three specific corrections: make the minimum-parking requirement for storage, wholesale and manufacturing uses its own point in section 62-2907 rather than a subpoint; change the special-use-license reference in section 130-18(G)(6) from the currently reserved section 62-251 to section 106-177; and correct the conditional-use-permit cross-reference in section 130-33(G)(2) from section 130-24 (the Innovation Corridor Retail Services District) to section 130-30.
Staff characterized the package as "some pretty quick, easy text amendments, but, to make them formal" (S5) and said the revisions will be placed on a future agenda so the commission can review formal text. Commissioners did not take a vote at this meeting; staff provided memos for commissioners to review and asked them to raise any questions prior to the formal agenda item.
