City awards 1375 E/7600 S water and sewer project to Kastle Rock for $415,928.20

The South Weber City Council voted April 8 to award the 1375 E/7600 S water and sewer replacement project to Kastle Rock Excavation & Development for $415,928.20. Staff said the existing water main is old, undersized and prone to leaks; the Culinary Water Capital Facilities Plan recommended replacing the line to improve water quality and fire flow. The project advertisement opened and 13 bids were received; the city had $550,000 budgeted for the work.
The recommended contract also includes a sewer extension to serve remaining residents on 7600 South. Councilman Jeremy Davis moved to award the contract and Councilwoman Angie Petty seconded; the council approved the award by unanimous roll call vote. Staff said easements and coordination with the Davis and Weber Counties Canal Company were part of preparing the project for construction.
