The South Weber City Council adopted Resolution 25-09 on April 8 to add citywide recycling services to its existing Robinson Waste contract, intending to begin recycling June 30, 2025. The contract addendum spans five years (through 2030) and includes variable hauling rates tied to participation, a two-year guarantee on hauling rates through July 1, 2027, and provisions for cart ownership and opt-out returns.
Under the addendum Robinson Waste will purchase and deliver the recycling carts; the city will take ownership of the carts after three years (on July 1, 2028). The contract also stipulates the city will purchase returned opt-out carts at $69.04 per cart. Councilman Blair Halverson moved for approval and Councilwoman Angie Petty seconded; the council approved the resolution on a unanimous roll call vote.
Council earlier voted on March 11 to implement a citywide recycling program beginning June 30, 2025; this addendum operationalizes that decision by amending the hauling contract.
