Residents raise camper-parking complaint; city cites 72-hour street-parking rule

During public comment, John and Amber Krulich told the council they had parked a camper on the street and said they would have arranged a driveway apron during last year’s construction if they had known the city’s parking rules. The couple asked for guidance after receiving a notice.
City Administrator Taylor Guenther told the Krulichs and the council that Mahnomen has an ordinance prohibiting any vehicle, camper or trailer from sitting on the street for more than 72 hours and that campers and trailers must be parked in driveways to keep roads clear. “There is an ordinance that no vehicle, camper, or trailer can sit on a street for more than 72-hours and all campers and trailers need to be parked in a driveway to keep roads cleared,” the meeting record states. Guenther advised the Krulichs to call city hall the next morning for assistance.
