The South Weber City Council on April 8 approved Ordinance 2025-05 to rezone approximately 6.6 acres near 6966 South 725 East from Agricultural (A) to Residential Moderate (R-M) with specific conditions to limit density and require timely development. Councilman Blair Halverson moved for approval and Councilman Wayne Winsor seconded; the council voted unanimously by roll call (Davis, Dills, Halverson, Petty, Winsor).
Community Development Manager Lance Evans told the council the R‑M zone permits up to 18 lots by right, but the street configuration for this site limits the subdivision to 12 lots. Property owner Gary Eisert said Lot 1–3 are intended for his children and noted the remainder is owned by Stan Cook. The council approved three conditions: a maximum of twelve single‑family residences, building permits to be issued within five years of passage, and automatic reversion to Agricultural (A) if those conditions are not met.
The conditions are intended to control density and ensure development happens within the council’s anticipated timeline. No separate amendment was proposed; the motion as stated passed on the council’s roll call. The council had moved briefly into a closed session earlier in the meeting following a power outage and reconvened to complete this vote.
