Infrastructure and public services dominated the latter portion of the retreat. Council asked staff to assess the need and feasibility of restoring bus access to a nearby metro station and recommended a regional transportation study that incorporates walkability, bike access and micro-mobility. Staff noted prior pedestrian connectivity and sidewalk studies exist and advised aligning new work with projects already underway.
Council also directed staff to investigate drainage concerns near Nursery Avenue, to investigate crosswalk-visibility improvements (flashing warnings) and to consider dark-sky-compliant street lighting where appropriate. On utilities, staff reiterated ongoing water, sewer and stormwater capital work and flagged potential grant opportunities to address high-priority projects. The council adopted an infrastructure-oriented goal framed as "Provide quality-of-life enhancements through infrastructure and public services."
