The Garland Youth Council will staff a themed booth at the city’s Trunk and Hunt event on Wednesday, April 1 at Audubon Park, with the council assigned to a vehicle and a fairy‑tale/enchanted‑forest theme. Parks & Rec staff said they need roughly 5–8 volunteers for that evening shift and asked groups to coordinate with Tassie on decorations and budget limits.
Council member Joe Thomas also highlighted a local business ribbon cutting: a new Swig soda shop at 2301 Arapahoe Road is soft‑open and will hold a grand opening with a three‑day buy‑one‑get‑one promotion at its ribbon cutting. "When we do the ribbon cutting on Monday, they're gonna do a 3 day special buy 1 get 1 free," Thomas said, inviting attendees to the promotion and to follow his social pages for event coverage.
