The judge noted the lead time required to transition systems that interface with state agencies such as the DMV and recommended engaging a buyer's or leasing agent to identify options. Commissioners reviewed several properties as preliminary possibilities (an old bank building, a former USAA building and other retail spaces) and discussed the limited availability of appropriately sized sites (roughly 4,000 sq ft). "Best case scenario is we're gonna need to find a new place for you by 12/31/2025," the judge said during the discussion. Staff said they would return with more concrete lease offers or agent proposals at a future meeting.
