A staff presenter said the contract included an exit clause and staff, the city manager and the city attorney elected to terminate the agreement before it was implemented. "That contract has it's been canceled. It's not moving forward," the presenter said.
Staff provided a preliminary accounting of costs incurred while preparing the program: about $43,000 in CIS software work, approximately $6,000 related to billing certificates and about $1,000 in other billing tasks. The presenter said because the contract was cancelled there will be no telehealth item on the May 2 ballot and no election-related cost for this program. Staff said further financial details are being collected in response to a council request, and no new telehealth implementation will be carried out without additional public review.
