Florence accepts dispatcher resignation, hires two dispatchers and authorizes Windstream claim inquiry in executive session

Also in executive session, and upon recommendation of Chief Burns, the board accepted dispatcher Joanna Karras’ resignation effective April 3, 2026, and approved hiring Brandy Cates as a part-time dispatcher at $14.50 per hour starting April 10, 2026 and Brittney Overstreet as a full-time dispatcher at $16.00 per hour starting April 21, 2026, each hire contingent on successful background checks, drug and alcohol testing and subject to a six-month probationary period. Vote tallies for those motions were recorded in the minutes as identical (Banks Aye; Grantham Absent; Herrin Aye; Martin Aye; Sistrunk Aye).
