Calvert staff seek ServiceNow migration and budget-book integration to modernize county IT

The department proposed a ServiceNow transition to centralize support requests and workflow automation, network-infrastructure upgrades and public-safety system improvements.
Finance Director Bruce Miller told commissioners that a budget-book integration that supports both financial statements and budget creation would address manual reporting burdens and could dovetail with the finance team's adaptive-module work. "What I am looking for ... is a system that allows us to do the reporting both on the financial statements and on the budget creating the budget book," Miller said during the meeting, urging staff to include a dollar amount to begin evaluation.
Other items listed included a fuel-master replacement to improve reporting accuracy, implementation of a bidirectional prosecutor-court interface and law-enforcement mobile data solutions. Commissioners asked staff to refine costs and timelines for any projects moving from conceptual 'buckets' into firm CIP requests.
