The Chair also mentioned an existing local program called "Be Like Me," an experiential exhibit housed in a former elementary-school building that uses rooms and stations to educate visitors about different disabilities; committee members suggested inviting program organizers or coordinating with local PTAs and the library system to develop a consolidated outreach plan.
The committee agreed these items merit additional time on a future agenda to explore partnerships, volunteer requirements and possible timing tied to awareness months.
