Officials told attendees that parks and recreation investments in District 2 include a completed Central Park Loop Trail, upgraded sports fields and playgrounds at roughly 26 parks, and a large skate park that attracts visitors across Texas. Rosenthal cited the new Holford Recreation Center and several aquatics facilities, and said the Bob Day Tennis Center had a ribbon-cutting that will bring tournaments to Garland.
Library programming also featured in the presentation: Rosenthal described the Central Library's podcast studio, cooking demonstration kitchen and meeting rooms, noted a state award for the library and announced a new West Library branch with further interior updates planned at North and South Garland libraries.
