Leticia Anderson, a resident of Precinct 4, urged the Coryell County Commissioners Court to adopt a comprehensive long-range development plan that goes beyond hazard mitigation and sets measurable goals for infrastructure, economic development and water sustainability. "The plan addresses natural risk, but does not provide a comprehensive blueprint for infrastructure or economic development beyond emergency response," Anderson said during the public forum.
Anderson outlined three specific areas of concern: consistent infrastructure standards across extraterritorial jurisdictions, a formal county economic strategy that identifies target industries and workforce needs, and a coordinated long-range water supply and drought resilience plan tied to regional planning. "I ask the court, does the court have a long range water supply and drought resilience plan that aligns with regional water planning efforts?" she asked, urging transparency and timelines to strengthen investor confidence and protect residents.
Court members did not take immediate action on the request; Anderson—s remarks were recorded during the public comment period and will be available to staff as they prepare future planning and grant coordination work.
