Windsor Locks High School receives continued NEASC accreditation; commission lists priorities

Superintendent Shawn Parkhurst reported that the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) voted to continue Windsor Locks High School’s accreditation based on the school’s Three‑Year Report of Progress and Planning. The commission commended the district for multiple supports, including a Safe School Climate Coordinator, a Curriculum Director, a common curriculum template, Math and ELA interventionists, structured SRBI, and student‑led mastery-based assessments.
NEASC also identified two priority growth areas: continuing implementation of the district's vision of the graduate and developing a district‑wide curriculum review cycle. The Board held a brief discussion following the report about next steps and implementation.
