Director of Human Resources Robert Stacy told the Board of Education the district received two retirement notices at the Sept. 12 meeting and presented a list of new hires.
Stacy said Ms. Deborrah Ramirez, a school counselor at Windsor Locks High School, "will retire June 30, 2025" after 11 years of service, and Ms. Tracy Rasmussen, a mathematics teacher at Windsor Locks High School, "will retire June 30, 2025" after 20 years. The board voted unanimously to accept both retirements and offered appreciation for their service.
Stacy also reported the district has hired 69 new employees this year, including 23 new teachers, and noted many districts continue to face challenges filling vacancies. The board spent a brief time discussing staffing implications; no personnel appointments beyond the hires list were acted on at the meeting.
