The Windsor Locks Board of Education voted unanimously Sept. 26 to approve a package of policy revisions, renumbering and two new policies covering Title IX and internet safety.
Robert Stacy, the district's Director of Human Resources, presented the items as second reads and final approvals. The board approved revisions to policy 0521 (Nondiscrimination), 2400 (Evaluation of Superintendent), 3850 (Pesticide Application, renumbered to 3524.1), 5145.12 (Search and Seizure), 6164.11 (Student Use, Sale or Possession of Alcohol or Controlled Drugs), 6164.12 (Exemption from AIDS Instruction), and 6170 (Homework, renumbered to 6154). The board also voted to adopt new policies 4000.1/4200.1/5145.44 (Title IX) and 6141.323 (Internet Safety Policy/Filtering).
The motion carried without opposition; as recorded in the minutes: "It was MOVED (Guyette) and SECONDED (Cutler) and PASSED (U) that the Board of Education approves the revision of policies 0521 Nondiscrimination, 2400 Evaluation of Superintendent, 3850 Pesticide Application and Renumber to 3524.1, 5145.12 Search and Seizure, 6164.11 Student Use, Sale or Possession of Alcohol or Controlled Drugs, 6164.12 Exemption from Aids Instruction, and 6170 Homework and Renumber to 6154, and approve the new policies: 4000.1/4200.1/5145.44 Title IX, and 6141.323 Internet Safety Policy/Filtering as presented."
