Superintendent Shawn Parkhurst told the Windsor Locks Board of Education on Sept. 12 that he will attend the Board of Finance meeting on Oct. 8, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. to present a State of School Report outlining upcoming capital needs.
"He will be attending the next Board of Finance Meeting scheduled for October 8, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. to give a State of School Report discussing the chimney and roof projects among other upcoming projects," Parkhurst said. The presentation is intended to keep the Board of Finance apprised of projects and budget concerns raised during earlier budget discussions.
The board did not vote on specific funding at the Sept. 12 meeting. Chairwoman Kylee Christianson also noted that she participated in teacher-contract negotiations the previous evening and that those negotiations "went very well," indicating ongoing personnel and budget planning will continue ahead of the October briefing.
