City staff told the DEIB Commission and the Library Advisory Board that the city will soft-launch a volunteer hub on Huddl Connect next week and will run a public campaign in early fall. The hub will allow organizations and groups to post volunteer opportunities, collect registrations, and create a vetted pool for events and working groups.
"It it's a it's a volunteer hub that's very similar to the events calendar," the staff member said, describing the platform's function and how it will be used for both one-off events and longer-term volunteer pools. Staff said commissioners and boards will be able to post opportunities directly to the platform once the hub launches and that training will mirror the current events calendar workflow.
