Staff briefed the board on economic-development projects and upcoming visits. The EDC director said the Spine Road/mega site ribbon-cutting is planned for October to allow more time for coordination and cooler weather.
On international recruitment, staff described a Sept. 18 delegation visit coordinated by the Wilco Economic Development Partnership that will bring 10 vetted South Korea companies to the Hutto area, with a substantial portion of the visit based at Texas State Technical College in Hutto. Staff said the list represents the top companies vetted by the partnering Korean organizations and that a broader SelectUSA follow-up remains pending later in the month.
Board members also heard event and outreach plans for downtown placemaking, a Heart of Hutto event sponsored by Frost Bank and a Biz Thrive program for small businesses. Staff said details and calendar links will be shared on the city's website and agenda packet materials.
