Jeff McKelvey reported on discussions with Halls Lake Association member Polly Rouhan about possible sand placement and parking changes at Halls Lake Beach. Minutes note that the Lake Watershed Action Plan (LWAP) contains no prohibition on adding sand, but that the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation discourages adding sand to the beach.
McKelvey said the fence posts at the beach are in good condition and likely only need resetting, and that he plans to rebuild benches with volunteer help in May. The Board and Highway Foreman Mike Hastings discussed addressing a buried culvert and whether grant funding from the DEC might be available for that work.
