Adam Shutt, Louisa County Engineer, updated the board on facilities work at the Old Jail and reported he had been in contact with a contractor about asbestos removal. Shutt told the board the cost to obtain a report determining the amount of asbestos in the building would be $1,000. The board instructed Shutt to move forward with securing the report.
Curt Hartlieb provided his Veteran Affairs monthly update earlier in the meeting. The asbestos assessment is an initial step to determine scope and potential removal costs; the minutes record authorization to proceed with the report but do not yet record contract award or a removal schedule.
