The Town of Rock Falls board heard during the clerk’s report that a prospective operator, Steven Carter, is looking to open a glamping venue off Highway E just south of Daisy Lane and has asked about obtaining a Class B alcohol license.
Clerk Diane Chambers told the board that Carter would face a state fee of $10,000 for the license and that even after paying the state, the town would still have to approve the license. Chambers said the information the town currently has indicates it “doesn’t have the population to support another license,” and the board agreed to continue seeking answers before taking action.
