Lawrence Police Department honors junior cadets at graduation ceremony

Superintendent Ralph Guerrero thanked school leadership for providing the facility and told cadets their experience will help them "be focused" and prepared for the large student body at Lawrence High School. Chief Maurice Aguilar told families the department aims to work "side by side" with the community and stressed policing's evolving role beyond traditional enforcement.
Organizers presented certificates to the students as their names were read and closed the ceremony with special awards for students who showed notable improvement and leadership.
