Chair Carol Jones opened the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Douglas County advisory committee meeting at 4:15 p.m. on Jan. 14, 2026. During the advisory board update, Stacie Buchanan said, "State policy now prohibits county employees from serving on the ADRC Advisory Committee."
Buchanan said she consulted with the State Representative and explained that because the committee is actively recruiting, the county cannot immediately change member status. The committee discussed member stipends and incentives, possible adjustments to meeting times, and social media outreach to support recruitment. The minutes note an editing change recorded at the March 11, 2026 ADRC meeting clarifying membership targets.
