Henderson adopts municipal and regional zoning updates redefining 'Manufactured Home'

The Henderson Board adopted two zoning ordinances on final reading updating the definition and standards for manufactured housing.
Building Official Brent Beshires told the board both measures reflected the first readings previously considered. Ald. Mark A. Barber moved to approve Ordinance #581 (municipal zoning) and Ald. Keith Smith moved to approve Ordinance #582 (regional zoning); both passed on roll call votes with five ayes and one member absent (Jason Rhodes). Mayor Terry F. Bell declared each ordinance approved on final reading.
The minutes record the vote tally for both ordinances as Ayes: Mark A. Barber, Donna Butler, Buel Maness, Michael Phelps and Keith Smith; absent and not voting: Jason Rhodes. The ordinances update local code language replacing older terminology (e.g., 'Manufactured Residential Dwelling') with 'Manufactured Home' and revise the applicable standards as recorded in the published ordinance text.
