County clerk says staff actions hinder volunteer events at fairgrounds

Hill said employees "lack insight with the purpose of the Fairgrounds for community events," cited the Horse Project's struggle to access a tractor needed for safe arena preparation, and described a canceled show caused by poor scheduling of a well service. She also noted removal of bleachers for a main fair event and said the incidents showed a continued obstructive mentality by the DPW and Parks & Rec directors.
Commissioners did not take disciplinary action at the meeting but asked the clerk and administration to provide copies of relevant email communications so the full sequence of decision-making and scheduling could be reviewed. Hill's remarks were presented as public input and recorded in the meeting minutes.
