Fair president and clerk raise concerns about contracts and equipment access

County Clerk Deborah Hill echoed concerns about county employees' handling of fairgrounds duties: Hill said county staff 'lack insight with the purpose of the Fairgrounds for community events' and described scheduling and access problems that disrupted a scheduled show. Hill said contract changes had been made without the board's approval.
Commissioner Scott Matley and Commissioner David Comai discussed the limited agreement options and the board's prior agreements; Comai said there had been three prior agreements, which prompted discussion about whether the current contract had been properly processed through counsel. The board asked the clerk and administration to provide copies of emails and paperwork to clarify the chain of approvals and the status of contract revisions.
No vote was taken regarding contracts; the board treated the matter as administrative follow-up.
