Henderson board approves ordinance to regulate mobile food vendors

The Henderson Board of Mayor and Aldermen on Jan. 8 approved Ordinance #583 on its final reading, adding Chapter 6 to Title 9 of the municipal code to regulate and permit mobile food vendors. Ald. Mark A. Barber moved the measure, Ald. Donna R. Butler seconded it, and Mayor Terry F. Bell declared the ordinance approved after a roll‑call vote showing five ayes with Keith Smith absent.
Recorder Jim E. Garland told the board the amendments proposed at the prior meeting had been updated in the ordinance before the final vote. The approval concludes the council’s deliberations on the measure and puts the new regulatory chapter into effect as adopted at final reading.
