The Finance Committee directed the Clerk to notice a special Board of Commissioners meeting for 1:00 PM on July 9, 2025 to review the Fair Board's gaming license application. Committee members stressed they needed documentation to confirm the Fair Board's status prior to signing agreements; Megan Nothelfer entered the meeting with the Fair Agreement and an EIN she said demonstrated the group's non-profit status.
Commissioner Kohn Fisher asked for proof of nonprofit/tax-exempt status and for the chain of custody for the documentation. Sheriff Patrick Whiteford said he would sign the liquor-license application in hopes the State would return it in time. The Clerk was asked to pull the resolution the following day so the special meeting agenda could include the gaming-license action.
