Finance Committee Approves Six Budget Amendments Including COA Reallocations and Sheriff's Grants

The Kalkaska County Finance Committee on July 8 approved six budget amendments by consensus. The approved amendments are 2025-003 (reallocation of funds to cover April 2025 COA conference expenses), 2025-004 (increase revenue and expense for a COA grant), 2025-005 (revenue from the Sheriff's Department's 2nd annual golf fundraiser), 2025-006 (revenue for employee gun buybacks), 2025-007 (Sheriff's Department grant revenue), and 2025-008 (firearms purchase for reserves).
Chair Jeff Sieting moved to approve the proposed amendments and the committee supported the motion. Accountant Corinna Hervey said she would make any necessary journal entries and obtain the BS&A access needed to print supporting reports ahead of the 2026 budget process.
