Henderson adopts 50/50 cyber‑security grant to buy cameras, firewalls

The Henderson Board of Mayor and Aldermen voted unanimously Nov. 13 to approve Resolution No. 2025‑012, authorizing the city to participate in the Public Entity Partners (PEP) Cyber Security Grant program.
City Recorder Jim E. Garland told the board he had worked with GIS Technician Kevin Baily on a 50/50 grant proposal for $2,000. Recorder Garland said the planned purchases are security cameras, routers and firewalls for multiple city facilities. Ald. Mark A. Barber moved to adopt the resolution; Ald. Keith Smith seconded. A roll call vote recorded ayes from Barber, Butler, Maness, Phelps, Rhodes and Smith; there were no noes. Mayor Terry F. Bell declared the resolution duly adopted.
