Ionia County approves multiple Road Department purchases, awards bids for maintenance work

The board awarded vendor contracts for guardrails (Action Traffic), signs (Dornbos Sign Inc., Michigan State Industries and MD Solutions), metal culverts (St. Regis Culvert) and mastic (P&T Products). Commissioners also approved contracts and renewals for roadside and guardrail brush spraying (Imperial Services), pavement markings (Michigan Pavement Markings LLC), gravel processing (Carrick Trucking & Gravel), roadside mowing (S&L Landscape; Quick Mow), catch basin cleaning renewal (Rogue Industrial Service LLC) and a contract extension for crack sealing with Fahrner.
The board ratified the county administrator's signature on Contract 26-41 for I‑96 rumble strip noise monitoring with HBK Inc. and separately approved a contract with the Michigan State Police for enforcement of seasonal weight restrictions. Commissioners emphasized routine procurement and maintenance as priorities for preserving county roads but did not specify dollar amounts in the minutes.
