Ionia County commissioners name members of standing committees for 2026
Summary
The Ionia County Board of Commissioners voted to assign members to audit, facilities, finance, grievance and personnel committees and a range of boards and authorities during its Jan. 13 organizational meeting.
The board approved committee assignments for the 2026 term in a single motion moved by Commissioner Gordon Kelley. Appointments included Audit Committee (Terry Frewen, Larry Tiejema, Scott Wirtz), Facilities Committee (Gordon Kelley, David Hodges, Scott Wirtz), Finance Committee (Terry Frewen, David Hodges, Larry Tiejema), Grievance Committee (Terry Frewen, Gordon Kelley, Phil Hesche) and Personnel Committee (Gordon Kelley, Phil Hesche, Jack Shattuck).
In the same motion the board approved a slate of appointments to outside boards and authorities: Airport Board (Terry Frewen), ACSETC (Scott Wirtz), Bargaining Committee (Jack Shattuck), Board of Public Works (Jack Shattuck, Phil Hesche), Commission on Aging (Larry Tiejema), Community Corrections Advisory Board (Scott Wirtz) and additional assignments to regional bodies and advisory panels. The motion was recorded as carried.
