Commission recommends Agricultural Protection Area for one parcel, denies four unzoned parcels

Under the approval standards, staff said only the AHZ parcel clearly met the required criteria for inclusion.
Staff recommended accepting parcel 05-074-0010 and denying the other four parcels. The commission moved to forward a recommendation to the County Commission reflecting that modification; Commissioner Jed Pugsley made the motion, Commissioner Jared Holmgren seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
The recommendation locks the AHZ parcel into an Agriculture Protection Area, which carries a 20-year term under the APA process; staff highlighted that including unzoned parcels could constrain future planning because unzoned land may be handled differently under the General Plan. The County Commission will review the Planning Commission's modified recommendation.
