Representatives from Shop with a Cop outlined plans for a community fundraising event — a family‑friendly 'spooky' maze with booths and food vendors — and requested site use and permission to serve alcoholic beverages. Megan Hanson of the sheriff's office introduced the event and described its purpose to raise funds for holiday shopping with deputies for families in need.
After logistical discussion about timing, security and alcohol monitoring, a board motion carried to allow Shop with a Cop free use of the fairgrounds, to have board members serve as alcohol monitors as available, and to donate 35% of OBS (alcohol) sales proceeds to the initiative. "We would like to serve adult beverages... and...donate the proceeds," the presenters said; the board approved the motion by voice vote.
