Commission approves rezone to allow five-acre lots in Corinne/Bear River area (Ordinance #651)

The Box Elder County Commission voted on May 27 to adopt Ordinance #651, rezoning approximately 22.07 acres in the Corinne/Bear River area from A-20 (Agriculture, 20-acre minimum) to RR-5 (Rural Residential, 5-acre minimum). Community Development Director Scott Lyons told the Commission the parcel would be subdivided into five-acre lots to allow family members to develop homes, and that the Planning Commission held a public hearing May 21 and recommended approval.
Commissioner Lee Perry moved to approve Ordinance #651; Commissioner Boyd Bingham seconded the motion and it passed unanimously on a roll-call vote (Vincent Yea; Bingham Yea; Perry Yea). The ordinance text in the packet lists the legal description of the rezoned parcel and sets the ordinance to take effect 15 days after passage.
