Carol Stephens, representing the Dale Township Fire Department, asked whether the bid could be awarded to the next lowest bidder. Commissioner Shane Jones said "a valid reason must be provided before awarding to a bidder other than the lowest," and Commissioner Jason Shanks advised that a written letter explaining the reason should be submitted. The Board tabled the bid pending submission of an explanation letter to the BOCC.
